Daily Dose of Inspiration.

Daily Dose of Inspiration.

I saw these photos a long time ago but thought I would share them to those that have not seen them.
The items are not for sale, the purpose of the image is to show the difference between how 1st world consumers look at products and what they might mean to other parts of the world. I never heard of this organisation before but after a little research they are based in multiple countries so they would have got lots of publicity.

Artist Manal Al Emadi.

Hello Everyone!

''Qatari, Talented and supports talents, Troll, English major, Mass Communication minor, Video gamer.''

I am excited to show you some of my favourite Artists work today! I have known Manal for a number of years and seen her flourish and develop her work. It has been so fascinating and her work just keeps getting better and better! She is only 22 years old and such an inspiration! She always supports other artists. I really appreciate that and I am sure everyone else does too! Here is a little more about her.

1.What’s the best thing about being an artist?/What’s the worst thing about being an artist?and why?

The best thing about being an artist is that you can express yourself through art, and you can show everyone your imagination.

While the worst thing is that you might have the will to draw, but you keep staring at the paper for hours without drawing anything, which is called art block.

2.I noticed you are interested in anime, what started this interest?

Collecting anime photos from the Internet. Seeing how beautiful they were in many ways, like their big eyes, hair and even their school sailor uniforms. It is the beauty of their style in general.

3.How long have you been interested this type of art for?

For ten years.

4.What inspired you to start creating these cute cartoons and would you say you have a particular style?

I am the kind that loves to try different kinds of styles, but as for my original character, I need to stick to one style.

5.Have you always been creative?

Not really, but I try to be.

6.Do any artists influence you and why? Where do you get your influence from?

The artist that really influenced me to become more serious about art is @Wse7en . Thanks to him, I have realized that art is more valuable than just a hobby.

7.Do you normally sketch your designs first or work digitally first?

I do both, depending on the poses when drawing people. If I draw a new pose, I would rather sketch it before working digitally.

8.What has been your favourite project/art piece and why?

My very first short Manga (Japanese based comic), which was called "Never Underestimate The weak". When I took Short Story course at the university, I was given options to whether I write a story or make a graphic story. I thought I was not ready to make a comic, but it was my chance and I made it! Although my drawing at that time was not really good, but every time I look at it, I feel proud and I keep comparing it to my now works realizing how much I got improved!

9.What are you studying now and what are you hoping to achieve in the future?

English Literature and Linguistics (Major) / Mass Communication (Minor).. I am hoping to make comics and animations, giving workshops and participate in art related events.

10.Would you like to see more artistic subjects being taught in Qatar and which ones?

Yes, I would like to see subjects that support the cartooning field, like animation and character designs.

11. How long does it normally take you to make these drawings?

About 2-3 hours.

12. What medium do you enjoy using the most?

Digital tablet.

13.What is the best piece of advice you can tell someone who wants to start Art?

Try everything! Do not have the fear to fail. With more practice and patience, you will find yourself improving.

14. What are your dreams for the future?

To become a professional artist and raise ambitious children.

She even does Youtube tutorials for anyone who wants to know how she creates some of her characters!

I have a passion for supporting young artists especially from the Middle East because lets face it, not much positive attention goes to this side of the world, so It's great to show it all off and show what talent certain individuals have!

Autumn lighting.

Autumn lighting.

Hey Everyone!

I really loved the lighting on the day I took these shots. A lot of people say '' Oh it is sunny it's the best time to take photos.'' ... Well here is a tip... when there is no direct sun, just a clear day that is when the photos look best! No shadows or harsh light hitting the face makes the image look really natural. Early morning or evenings are really great because the sun isn't as harsh as mid day. I am not a big editor mainly due to the fact I am lazy, so I just did some contrast on these images and made 2 black and white and 2 using curves.

Here are a few random shots I did on the day.

See you soon and have a great weekend!

Daily Dose of Inspiration.

Hey everyone,

So I found this video and I thought it was really creative and so different! The photographer is Steven Meisel  and I absolutely loved it! Such a weird atmosphere overcame me as I watched the video.

I then looked at the images and I really felt they were a lot more meaningful when really looked at in depth. The project is called 'Face the future.' A lot of women cover up to feel more confident and beautiful.

The night is young.

The night is young.

Hello my lovely readers, hope you are all doing well!

Here is something I wrote called 'Punch me now' - basically about how words can hurt more than physical pain.

Punch me NOW.
Go on just do it!
Shut up,
Stop talking
And just punch me right in the face!
Seriously words hurt more than a punch.
So just punch me now!
And the pain will fade away eventually.
The words will linger every second my brain is awake,
Twenty- four seven I shall be terrorized, broken down and beat by words.
Punch me NOW!
And don’t utter another word….
Thank you.

Here are a few photos of Hong Kong at night and I have a few more posts of other things to post up later on this week!

See you soon, very soon!
