I've noticed there is so much negativity on the net, everyone complaining they can’t afford something, or they can’t do something or complaining they can’t get somewhere in life. It baffles me because all the opportunities are right in front of us. I guess if everyone stopped procrastinating, and looked beyond the "I can’t, I will never" mentality... I’m sure mountains of opportunities are awaiting you.

Well i must confess to you all, i used to be a brand addict when i was younger, all i wanted was to wear designer clothes, i saw all these rich celebrities wearing brands and everyone worshiped them, everyone respected them and looked up to them. So i thought if i wore designer brands everyone would look up to me. Of course now i look back at that and think what an idiot, but then i also think Thank god it happened when i was younger, because i know many people who are brand addicts in their late teens and 20+ years.

Imagine emotions metaphorically, literally and physically walking down my spine, i turn from hells warmth to the most painful icy statue, i cannot move, i cannot speak, nor hear, but i feel, i feel the sudden rush of freedom in my veins.

When doing something creative there always seems to be someone telling you "no your doing it wrong" or "its suppose to be like this", sometimes i feel like just screaming at them and telling them this is my work and let me do it how i want to do it. Ever felt like that? I guess if we all did it 'right' we would all have the same type of images, we would all have the same style and the same ideas.

So its 2012 now and lets speak in terms that it is actually going to be the end of the world. Who is actually ready to die this year? And honestly say they made the most of all the opportunities they had, no regrets, have been true to them selves and others; they’ve helped others and they have sacrificed aspects of their life to create a better future, basically lived their life to the fullest.

As most of you know i was previously living in Qatar before i came back to England to finish Further Education. The first question i get when i mention Qatar is "What is it like?" and then i have to give a long detailed explanation of what Qatar is like and the lovely people that make the country, then generally someone else will butt into the conversation and want me to explain again; but now i can just direct them to this post. This is personally my favourite photo.

Ever since starting photography I have noticed everyone has their own opinion to what is a good photograph and what isn't but then again everyone is different. People are not usually in a state of complete equanimity when looking at a piece of work due to the fact of being brought up in different cultural, religious and social environments where expectations and ideas differ.

So after the first Assignment we got the next one two weeks ago called "Inspired by..." this gave me an opportunity to research different Photographers and do a project inspired by one of them. I thought of Pieter Hugo straight away as he is one of my favorite photographers.

I was asked to photograph Children in Need, Blackpool, with three others in my class. Children in need is a huge event that happens once a year in November when all the big celebrities perform, singing, dancing and doing anything crazy to help raise money.

Me: “Over 18”

Man: “Oh then I bet you’re gonna be out this weekend down at the pub partying”

Me: “No actually I have college work to do and seeing my Godparents”

Man: (laughs) “Yeah yeah, common your over 18, I bet you’ll be getting out on the town”

Me: No I already told you, I’m seeing my family and have college work to do”

Man: Yeah sure *winks*

I get this on an occasional basis, where people automatically assume something about me before even knowing me but because I am over 18 or British, they think I must be doing what the majority do too.

About a month ago I was selected to go to London with the dancers from my college to photograph them perform as well backstage hair and makeup. I actually thought it would be quite easy but boy I was wrong! After a seven hour journey all the way to London on a coach, We arrived at Excel London for the rehearsals late evening.

1st assignment - The interview

As most of you all know I started college and I was put in the 2nd year straight away. I was excited yet apprehensive as everyone in the class knew each other from the previous year and then there was just ME and they knew how all the assignments worked and the grading system etc. We got our first assignment and it was to create a magazine layout; we had to interview someone, take photos of them and then create the whole spread to fit into the style of a magazine we chose. We have had 6 weeks to do it which is plenty of time to research, take the photos and create the layout however 6weeks came by so quickly, by the time I knew it, it was already the deadline date. Of course the first magazine I thought of was Vogue and I had previously done a photo shoot with a boy called Jack so I decided to do the interview of him and take new photos.

If your Squeamish Look away now. My mother saw one of the photos and that was enough for her to not look at the rest. I took these photos just randomly the other day inspired by the whole Halloween atmosphere and of course i incorporated Fashion to the shoot. Excuse me if there's mistakes in the little piece of writing below i wrote it last night very quickly before i went to bed.

As I arrived in England the first thing that came to my mind was the fact I needed to find somewhere to prosper and learn about photography since I originally thought I was going to finish off my A Levels but things changed and I got onto a photography course instead. All it was, was a quick search on Google, an email sent and Tadaa I am now a member of the Preston Photography Society and I attend once a week. With a bit of courage and determination, you can do the same, if you’re a photographer, an artist, or have any other talent, Google is just a few clicks away and search for any workshops, clubs, events that are happening around you! I can assure you it will do you a world of good.

The Beginning of the Journey;

The Beginning of the Journey

I was reconsidering the whole idea of continuing with the blog since I’ve already got three other websites running continuously and I actually never have time for myself, but after a long debate with myself and people bombarding me with messages to carry on writing, I will start posting once a week on a Friday about what it’s like to be an aspiring photographer and the thoughts and battles I have within me about certain subjects.

I have now moved to sunny England and I’ve just started a photography course.
